DIY
okay, so this really isn't a DIY question but I saw Katy's post about how cheap shampoos and conditioners aren't good for your hair... which I guess I've kind of known about, like how alcohol is drying and how pantene just coats your hair. so my question is.. what hair products DO you like and how can I get them on the cheap? are aussie/treseme good brands are no?

the ones i like that are closest to affordable are burts bees because they are paraben/sulfate/petrochemical free, and they smell pretty good (the shampoo doesn’t lather very well because it doesn’t have sulfate, thouuugh!)  and the conditioner makes your hair kinda feel “squeaky” clean which i don’t like too much but they are good for your hair. (and that feeling can be easily solved with a leave-in conditioner). honestly i would avoid treseme and aussie all together, but in the end it is your hair and i know some people who use really crappy shampoos and conditioners and their hair looks great. it really depends on what your type of hair is, and what products work best for you (i am not gonna judge you if you like a shampoo that isn’t good for your hair, if you don’t care, no one else should!). it doesn’t hurt to play around with them and experiment with different things. just with my hair i am super prone to split ends and i’m a hair health nazi so i try to avoid anything bad for it!
