Oh my gosh okay sorry guys I haven’t made a post in here for about a MONTH! I suck, I know… Okay I am going to try to be more active with posting, but here is a quick little DIY that I just did because my clogged pores were out of control!

What you’ll need:

1-2 tbsp of sea salt

1/4 of a tomato

step 1: get a small bowl, remove the skin of the tomato and then mash it with your fingers or a fork

step 2: add the sea salt! (more or less depending on how much you need)

step 3: apply it to your clean face, and while the tomato/sea salt mixture is still wet, take some more sea salt and pat it on your face, kind of like you are making a sea salt mask!

step 4: let that sit for about 5 minutes then rinse!

The acid in tomatoes help to break down the dirt and oil in your pores (black heads/ white heads) and the sea salt helps to exfoliate the dead skin so the acids in the tomato can really break down that crap as best as it can!

Also following with an egg white facial makes your skin feel oooohhhh sooooo nice. (You just whisk up an egg white then throw that on your face and let it sit until it dries, then rinse and moisturize and voila!)

I hope you liked this!

ginormagantuan-deactivated20120 asked: about the hair bleaching post, what do you recommend for people with dark hair that want to go blonde?

my best suggestion would be getting a higher volume developer! It will help with the lifting action, and toner will definitely help

For Blondes

Would you like your hair as white as this?

I CAN HELP.

The first rule of getting nice, platinum hair is to NEVER use box dye. ever. If you do, your hair will probably end up being a pee yellow.

What I use is

Paul Mitchell Cream Bleach. I use cream bleach because a lot of powder bleaches can burn your scalp and cream bleach is just easier for me.

I mix in a 30 volume cream developer with cream bleach to help with the lifting process(you can use different volumes according to the color of your hair)

The nice thing about bleach is that you can definitely tell when it is fully processed by the color. When it is fully processed it will look completely blonde.

In order to get an ashy color(platinum), apply toner after washing the bleach out of your hair.

Upkeep:

One thing that is a MUST for me to have the lightest hair possible is using Clairol Shimmer lights shampoo and conditioner. You can get it at your local beauty store, and each bottle is between 10 and 13 dollars. It keeps your hair from getting brassy and yellow looking and keeps it shiny, and as a platinum as possible.

If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask :]

Hey guys! Okay I was on my facebook today and I saw that Neutrogena skinID is looking for a few people (boys/girls ages 16-25) to participate in a free 8 week program of using skinID! And the person who they choose gets to be in a TV COMMERCIAL!!! So if any of you are interested and have acne, you should really try your chances at it! I love skinID and have been using it since I was 16, and this is an awesome opportunity!!!!

You can sign up here:

http://thedumontproject.com/skinid/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=medialeaders

Only people with acne qualify though, and your chances of winning are kinda slim (cause a ton of people are probably going to enter it) but HEY it’s worth a shot, right?!?!

GOOD LUCK I hope one of you win if any of you enter!!!!!!!!!!!!

DIY Gentle exfoliation for everyday use:

This is more of a quick little tip rather than a DIY! But this has really helped my skin a lot, it helps to make your pores look smaller by sucking up your extra oil and it gently brushes away your dead skin cells!

It works wonderfully for sensitive, oily, and normal skin types!

What you’ll need:

+ your favorite face wash! (recently I have been using avalon organics vitamin c refreshing cleansing gel, you can get it at walmart and I love it for this!)

What to do: pour a tiny bit of baking soda into your hand, then add a TINY amount of water, then 1-2 squirts of your face wash and turn it into a paste-like consistency.

This is a-ok to use everyday because it is very gentle, but remember even with this kind of exfoliating you still need to do a harsher exfoliant every few days once your dead skin cells start to build up more!  I usually do this every morning!

botoxyourbabies-deactivated2012 asked: how does a person decide what to color their hair there are so many choices omg

this is a wonderful guide for determining what kind of hair color will best suit you if you are doing at home hair color!: http://www.my-virtual-makeover.com/hair-color.html

then look online at different colored box dyes (clairol’s website, l’oreal, and john frida are my favorite) garnier sucks (some people like it though, but when i dyed my hair blonde with it once it went GREY!) and so does the clairol’s herbal essences line so watch out!!!

but one of the easiest ways is to go into your salon and have an expert help you choose out the most flattering color for you!!!

2nuns1bible-deactivated20120129 asked: what conditioner/shampoo helps strengthen hair the best

if you have a sally’s beauty supply around your house you can go there and depending on what your hair needs (protein for color treated hair/ moisture for heat damaged hair) they have little treatment packets that are specific for what your hair needs that will help to strengthen them! also a good cheapo drugstore shampoo and conditioner is the l’oreal ever stong line, i don’t really like the way it smells but i’ve been using it for the past week and i actually really like it… the ingredients aren’t harmful to your hair  and if you get one of the deep repair masks that they sell they work really well and make your hair look super shiny/healthy as well as feel stronger! and you can also mix up some eggs and apply that to your hair as a protein treatment!!!

What to avoid while buying shampoo/conditioner

eek I’m not exactly an expert on every ingredient that is put into shampoos and conditioners, but here is a little list with sources that can help you guys in your haircare quest! It is kinda lengthy, but I really like it because it explains why you should avoid these ingredients and how they can be harmful to you… its some pretty scary stuff man

Shampoos:

MIT (methylisothiazolinone): This is a chemical biocide, allergen, cytotoxin and neurotoxin that is added to commercial shampoos to control bacterial growth in water based substances. Prolonged use of this chemical can not only start to destroy your cell function but as the University of Pittsburgh study shows concern with, is that MIT can effect the neurons of unborn fetuses. Governmental and business agencies in Japan and the United States have not done testing on the effect of the human body for this toxin and state that there is not enough data to stop thechemicals production and consumer usage.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate / Sodium Laureth Sulfate: This is a chemical substance that is also known by Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, SDS and NaDS. Manufactures use this chemical to enhance lather and remove oil. This chemical is a biocide that eats away at skin tissues and is retained in the body’s cells on a long term basis. Known to cause the following: canker sores, skin rashes, dandruff, skin infections, skin corrosion, swelling of the hands, arms and face, eye irritation and mimics the human hormone Oestrogen. First studied and known to cause such effects since the printed report in the Journal of The American College of Toxicology in 1983, the governmental and businessagencies in several counties have yet to stop mass consumer usage of this chemical.

DEA (diethanolamine): This chemical is used in shampoos for its lather enhancement and as a wetting agent. DEA is a biocide, cytotoxin and neurotoxin. DEA mixes with other cosmetic ingredients to create NDEA (nitrosodiethanolamine) a known carcinogen. Studies have linked this chemical to an increase in stomach, liver, esophagus and bladder cancers. It is also known to inhibit fetal brain development and cause miscarriages. Currently, there is no legal regulation from governmentalagencies to stop mass production or consumer usage of products containing this chemical.

Conditioners:
The other night I was at wal-mart and I was literally looking at the ingredients on the back of every shampoo bottle, and literally the only thing that doesn’t have bad ingredients is the Burt’s bees shampoo/conditioners and the L’oreal everstrong/everpure line (sulfate-free shampoos/conditioners)
Honestly I am not a huge fan of the way they both make my hair feel (they make it feel “squeaky clean” and I like it to feel a bit more conditioned) but they are safe and pretty affordable compared to salon shampoos and conditioners (many of which are chucked full of bad ingredients).
I hope this helped! sorry I have been so bad at posting lately!!!!! if you guys have more requests for things just drop it in my ask!!!!
